The Inspire Story - God provides!

 

Fall of 2015 God was doing something in our hearts.

PWCC looking to plant a church. Issued the call to Pastor Jim and Pastor Bryan. 

 

January 2016 We visited AZ to explore the housing market. The team, Pastor Jim, Sue, Pastor Bryan, Terry and Emily (the Hitch's daughter rented an Airbnb for ten days. Jim and Sue found a home right away in January in SCW. Terry and Bryan returned in March and found a home in Surprise out in Desert Oasis. The Hitches moved April 10 from Fresno, CA. In late fall Bryan and Jim lead worship and preached at PWCC to recruit our launch team. The Hitches began hosting launch team gatherings, shared meals, had our worship gatherings together in The Hitches living room in Surprise, AZ. God was in our midst and on the move.

 

In January, 2017 we began monthly preview services at Zuni Hills Elementary. We sent a mailing to the surrounding neighborhoods. We got little to no traction in this "bedroom community." The school was hard to find and the entrance to the multipurpose room where we met was even harder.

On September 10, 2017 we had our "soft" launch and began weekly services. The school provided a storage closet for all our gear which meant we didn't have to load and unload a trailer. This was a tremendous blessing considering the age and unique demographic of our launch team.

We officially launched our church October 17, 2017.

We successfully "grew" from 125 to 25 by the end of December. This was a bit of an inside joke between Jim and Bryan.

We had a "real talk" conversation with Pastor Bruce in which he offered the use of Palm West Community Church's fellowship hall, Hoover Hall. We chose Saturdays at 4:00 pm, which at the time was an innovative service time for the community of Sun City West, AZ starting January of 2018. We were once again given a storage closet for all our sound equipment, projector, screen, computer, instruments and pipe and draping.

After a year we moved to SCW Foundation Meeting Rooms in January 2019. The Powell/Webb Rooms. And again, thought the generosity of the SCW Foundation, we received a storage closet for all our gear.

We had begun to experience great momentum and growth at the Foundation in early 2020 and then COVID19 hit! The first two weeks of March we live-streamed our service from Hoover Hall because of Pastor Bruce and PWCC’s continued support. We used an iPhone, keyboard for worship and podium for the message. The third week The Foundation generously invited us to keep everything set up in the Webb Room and stream our services from there. A tremendous blessing. For several weeks we were restricted by the protocols put in place but we continued to record and post our service as a “live” premiere every Saturday at 4:00 pm. 

 

In February of 2021, we moved into the lease space where we currently meet and continue to grow God's church, Inspire Church AZ.
